Red Line Approved – City of Charlotte Purchases Red Line Property

Per this WSOC news clip, the Charlotte City Council voted this week to approve the plan and funding of The Red Line linking Charlotte to Davidson and potentially Mooresville via commuter rail. The Red Line’s route includes a station at W.T. Harris Boulevard located in the proposed Griffith Lakes Transit Oriented Development. Toll Brothers Announces Expanded Offering for Second Phase of Griffith Lakes

Toll Brothers, the developer and builder of Griffith Lakes, is expanding its new home offerings to include a third collection of single-family homes, the Waterstone Collection, a series of larger homes to be built adjacent to Griffith Lake.  A model showcasing the new design offering is under construction at this time.  Learn more here including Toll’s plans to start construction soon on the community’s clubhouse and amenity complex including a kayak launch, pool, fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts. 

Eastover Ridge Preserve Greenway Segment 

One of Charlotte’s most popular greenway segments is one bordering Eastover Ridge and linking to Mint Museum Park. The Eastover Ridge segment was made possible by a series of conservation easements and property grants made by the E.C. Griffith Company totaling more than 23-acres of wooded wetlands.

Take a walk, run, or bike ride along along the trails and enjoy a bit of nature close to woods inhabited by wildlife ranging from deer and spotted salamanders to red-tailed hawks, blue herons, mallards and song- birds.  Read this article dating back to the early dedication of the preserve.
