Griffith Real Estate Services markets and manages real estate assets owned by the E.C. Griffith Company. Griffith Real Estate Services was formed in 1992 but its real estate roots and history can be traced back to E.C. Griffith, Sr. and The E.C. Griffith Company, which began operation in 1912.
The E.C. Griffith Company is well known for having developed the Eastover Community and portions of Myers Park, Historic Wesley Heights, the Elizabeth Neighborhood, and Dowd Heights (now referred to as Bryant Park).
E.C. Griffith Senior grew up in Oak Grove, Virginia, a small town on the Arrapahonock River. He left home at a young age and found work in a neighboring town. He later moved to Washington DC to pursue a legal degree at Georgetown University. However, his heart was not in the legal profession. Instead of returning home to Oak Grove, he migrated southward towards the Queen City and set his sights on becoming an entrepreneur eventually calling Charlotte his home. “Griff” pursued a career in real estate lending where he became familiar with the ins and outs of real estate. The rest is history.

Leading E.C Griffith into the third generation is James R. Griffith, Jr. who took the reigns in the 1990s. From here Jim, together with his brother Fred as VP and the Family Board of Directors has been able to expand and grow E.C. Griffith’s portfolio here in Charlotte.
Serving with Jim is Preston “Fred” Griffith. Fred continues to lead Griffith Real Estate Services and most recently continued work in the residential real estate space with a new luxury apartment complex in Charlotte’s West Morehead corridor known as The Griff.
